A loft totally decked out in steampunk regalia by owner and filmmaker Jeremy Noritz is for sale in the Chelsea area of manhattan for 1.75 Million, which, having lived in new York, is a perfectly reasonable price even if the walls were painted grey and the floor containing a pentagram made out of rat blood.
“The 1,800-square-foot space is configured as an open loft with one bedroom and two full baths, which are hidden behind walls of antique piping, gears and cogs.”
“The focal point of the home: a color-changing zeppelin that appears to float from the ceiling. ‘The colored light from the blimp is especially inspiring and gets me going creatively,’ said the owner.
“Transforming a plain-vanilla co-op into a Jules Verne wonderland took about two years. ‘Like other large projects, the initial budget and scope were quite modest compared to the beast it would eventually become,’ he said.”
“The bedroom is designed to look like a blimp exploded.”
