The next project is the 6 Act Posthuman War. Not to be confused with The Posthuman Playhouse book, (https://mochalab.bandcamp.com/merch/ebook-the-posthuman-playhouse), this picks up after the events of the book. Unlike every past album, a significant portion of the fandom already know the basic story, but no matter, the fandom asked for it, and i’m going to deliver it and it’s going to be exceptional.
I’ve been working on it. I’ve actually finished the first 2 acts and have begun organizing materials for the singers. I am leaving for the states next Tuesday and will be in the US for the next 2 months. I hope to record everyone for the 1st two acts them but at the very least i will be the 1st act taken care of. Although the 1st act is just a single song prologue)
At the end of the day, it will be a comparable length to Lost Hollow. Unlike Lost Hollow, i will likely not release it until the entire thing is finished. (There is a chance I will release the Acts as separate EPs along the way, but I’m not currently leaning this way.) I will, however, play the Acts on YouTube periodically. I may play Act 1, the Prologue as early as this summer sometime, but i make no promises. I will be spending the summer writing Act 3 and recording as much of the first two as i can.
There are some differences between the tale and The Ballad of Lloyd Allen. If you want in lore rational, Ballad was a third hand account, not an eyewitness one. There are details that the monk simply didnt know or was misinformed about. As for my rationale, it is my job to make as good a piece as i humanly can, and there are decisions i make with that in mind that supersede previous, third hand accounts. the differences aren’t major, this is the one project in which you do know what you’re getting into ahead of time, but there’s also enough details that are fresh and interesting that i think you’ll enjoy it much, much more than the short story on which it’s based, even if you already know it, and be pleasantly surprised on occasion.
There is no current timeline. I have 2 Acts done, and they’re in damn good shape. Going to the states is going to throw off my work pace, although it will get you recorded vocals. Basically you’ll get what you get when you get it. Lastly, there is a small contingent of the fandom, how big or small i can’t say for sure, but some small percentage, who will, i promise, poop themselves when they hear Act 2. And another, even smaller but infinitely more annoying percentage who will spontaneously combust when they hear Act 4.
See you soon.
So does this only span The Ballad of Lloyd Allen? I had initially thought I’d heard it would touch upon both The Posthuman War but also, simultaneously, the plot threads of saving Jill/stuff that happens after the current New Albion albums. Am I mistaken?
Essentially, I had thought it was:
Podcast => Parts of This Album => Basically all other New Albion Albums => Parts of This Album
This will only span Ballad. Modern Jill stuff will come later
