Flight to Helsinki, Finland booked end of June to record vocals for the next album, The Forgotten Meme, A Cyberpunk Fairytale.
As soon as it seems, i’ve actually really been taking my time on this and sweating over each and every second. It’s a much shorter album than usual, clocking just under 45 minutes. But the fact is, i’m ready to record vocals in a months, so i’m heading to Finland this time to record Kerttu Aarnipuu, who shall be playing The Little Meme in our sweet little fairytale. We shall vlog as necessary.
I’m also super excited to go to Finland, as i’ve never been there. I used to go out drinking with these two Finnish dudes. We’d drink for around 9 hours and they were fantastic drinking partners. Always great conversation, could keep going with cheer and good nature and never went around the bend. Naturally i’m assuming everyone in Finland is as cool. Not that i’m going out drinking for 9 hours. Not until sunday night, that is. Once vocals are in the bag.
So the next album in the great experiment that is the New Albion Saga is coming beginning of July.

This seems fun, which means it’s probably gonna be fun.
Knowing Paul though, he’s gonna stab us emotionally with a 3500 K teaspoon.
Like I said; fun!
Also Paul I’m beyond excited to hear the Forgotten Meme I’m like lowkey terrified about what you’re gonna give us but I know that it’s going to be amazing!

I cannot explain how excited I am. This is such a cool idea, and I can’t wait to add some new synthy cyberpunk music to my library!
The airport at Helsinki has a Santa Claus shop that’s open 12 months of the year!
Sounds exciting! I really have no idea what to expect from this album.
On another topic: I briefly saw you post about the Slenderman thing as well, but that post seems to be missing now. Personally, I’m in favor of having him get shot at the end. There can always be other Slendermen if one is needed for a later album, and it gives a much nicer conclusion to the album even if it does lead to the question of “Wait, where did this gun come from?” It shows that Timothy will now be able to live in peace, and I think it’s good that at least one of your characters have such an ending. 🙂
Plus, my general feeling when it comes to art is just that once something is released it shouldn’t really be tampered with except to fix technical issues and such. Art is a product of the time it was created and of the creator’s mindset at the time, and changing it after the fact often (even if only subconsciously) causes it no longer be in keeping with its original intent or meaning. You can guess what I think of the Star Wars special editions, for example.
At the very least, if a change really is warranted, then I feel that both versions should try to be maintained. I think it’s unfortunate, for instance, that the original versions of Stephen King’s books “The Stand” and “The Gunslinger” are only ever available used anymore, and you can’t even get the non-revised editions as ebooks. Especially in the digital age it is so easy to keep the original available (either as a separate purchase or as a free bonus) even when the “canon” work is changed.
