The 2nd Act Demo for The Dieselpunk Opera Is Done (Now’s the time)

It clocks in at 42 minutes long. It may be an idiotic letdown, at this point what do i know?

Normally i would sit on it a bit longer, but the time timetable for writing the Dieselpunk Opera is a fast one at this point. I shall be composing and recording the 3rd Act during the first 2 weeks of March. I aim to go to London to record singers in April and the release date for the DO will be basically the exact same as the Steampunk Opera, the beginning of May.

So normally i would sit on it a bit longer, but we’re just moving along so i’m going to declare it done now and worry about corrections in March.

I will not be releasing it like i did the 1st Act. However, as stated last week, the first 5 people to ask for it in the comments below will get it sent to them. All i ask is please do not upload it. It is not meant to be widely shared. I don’t care if you have a friend who wants to hear it, that’s fine, all i’m saying is don’t upload it so it can be widely dispersed across the internet.

For all else, don’t worry, the whole thing will be finished in 2 to 3 months and available.

Act 3 is pretty well established, has been for awhile, although i’m missing one key conceptual chunk and i haven’t actually mapped out songs yet beyond some vague ideas. It will focus on Jacqueline and bring the overarching story arch to an epic conclusion. I hope. That’s the idea.

Anyway, 2nd Act done, 3rd act on the horizon. It’s time to start contacting people in London. I’ll be contacting Lauren Osborn from the SO album as well as Oliver Marsh from the live show (for John O’Brien. Maybe Thomas. I haven’t decided who will play Thomas). I need to find another female for Jacqueline but i want her to sound mature. I want her to sound between the ages of 40 and 60. How old she actually is in real life is irrelevant, i want a voice that can get across 40 to 60. Alto.

So there. Yay!
