Well that last series was good fun. I really enjoy researching wacky movements so you can be assured there will be more in the future.
However, since i’ve got another very wordy series coming up, i thought i should take a day or two to post some non wordy posts. And this one is long overdue.
So having recorded the 1st Act in its entirety (the whole show is recorded but mostly without real vocals) i put it up on this blog and left it. I haven’t bothered with any kind of promotion since there won’t even be any kind of initial performance until around Easter of 2012.
And yet… well, some of you bought it right off. Gd bless you. But a funny thing keeps happening. I keep selling the 1st Act. Several times a week like clockwork someone comes along and buys it. It’s not that these numbers are gonna make me rich or anything, but without any type of actual promotion it just…. magically sells with regularity.
The one video i posted on YouTube, the Overture, with nothing but a random picture is closing in on 19,000 views with a portion of that traffic going to the blog and listening to the recordings, and a small portion of that actually buying it. (Keep in mind this is the internet. When anyone actually purchases music on the net it’s a minor miracle). The recordings, made only 3 months ago and not promoted at all other than on this site have about 10,000 listens. These numbers may not seem big, but this is before any type of actual promotion or performance whatsoever and all in 3 months. This blog has several hundred hits a day.
All i really do is sit here in a remote, isolated cottage in the mountains of Eastern Europe and plot world domination. Granted the amazing talents of Lauren Osborn, Kayleigh McKnight and Jason Broderick as well as the help of MProductions and Mark Swetz has made the tracks actually listenable (y’all heard me do falsettto. Trust me, i couldn’t carry a show based on those vocals).
So to all of you who are buying Act 1 (and the Random Tracks) THANK. YOU. Seriously. I don’t actually know who almost all of you are. But i love you. So from me to you, my thank you. Your Song.

Aw shucks, kids. I can tell you the other 3 Acts will not be posted until relatively close to Easter. Since the first (workshop?) performance will be about that time, the recording sessions for the vocalists in London will take place shortly before. Not TOO shortly before as i will have to come back and mix and master the album in order for it to be ready by performance.
It is the best music I have heard in ages…. I bought it and check back daily in hopes of the next Acts being posted >.<
I cant WAIT AGRGARHGA
I can honestly say, it is my pleasure. I sincerely hope that when it is all said and done, I will be in some measure helpful in bringing the Opera to Seattle in the future. Your video thank you message was touching…
