One last note that i’ll bring up in the near future: Lauren is making a lot of noise about putting on some kind of concert of my work. She’s talking next Sept and want to do some kind of… Paul Shapera cabaret, maybe? I’ve been… hesitant but she’s really pushing for it. It would be in the London area and both of us would be directly involved. There are literally no other details, we haven’t discussed any other details, but i’m just…. throwing it out there to see if there’s any sort of interest.

A concert sounds like a great idea ^^ but do make sure you’re up for it as well before doing anything drastic ^^ Lauren’s great but if you’re hesitant don’t let her push you into stuff you don’t wanna do.
However if you decide you want to do such a thing then I’m certainly doing my damnest best to get there and pull my boyfriend along as well whether he likes to or not ^^
I’d consider flying out for it.
Okay… so, there’s a big concert next September in Europe (Netherlands) that I want to go to anyway (Ayreon – “Into the Electric Castle and Other Tales”) but I wasn’t sure I could justify going to it with the cost of the flight and such, especially since I just went to the big Ayreon show that happened last year.
Then it turns out another of my favorite bands (Phideaux) is performing at a music festival in Wales just a few weeks after that, and it got me thinking again about going. I’d have to work remotely for a lot of the time between the two shows, but it’s potentially possible, just a bit impractical.
But if there’s a Paul Shapera show around late September too? Well, that might just tip the scales in favor of me making the trip and catching all three! It would be a dream-come-true tour of three of my five favorite artists… and there’s also rumblings about Devin Townsend doing some arena shows in Europe around that time as well, so if I’m lucky it may just make for 4/5 (which is all that is possible at this point since my other favorite band isn’t playing together anymore).
Please keep us posted, and I’ll hope to be able to find some late tickets for the other shows if (when?) such a show from you folks gets confirmed. 🙂 I’d offer to help out in some way with such a production, but I’m afraid I have no instrumental or sound engineering/production skills and my voice is, to be honest, not great. I can kind of hit the right pitches, but that doesn’t mean it sounds good!
