I’ve been asked about doing an audio version of the book Lost Fables From New Albion ( https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/752286 ). I haven’t done one because doing book length audio read throughs is more time consuming than you might think. But it’s not a terrible idea, i just question whether there’s enough of a demand to make it worth the effort.
There may be. The book sells nicely. I mean, not popular bestseller numbers or anything, but for my little cottage industry, it does well. So i’m going to throw the question out there, should i make an audio book version or no?
Let's connect! Here is where you can find me:
well, Paul, your musik is always worth the time. I’m always waiting for new music from your hands. I don’t have the book so why not get the music version? (Or both?)
I say: give it a try, you already know, your fans a gonne love this.

Hey, if it went on bandcamp it’d be way more accessible for me, so I’d buy it soon as I had the money 😀

Depends on the price really…I mean I got the book already, so I don’t need it per se, but I would like an audio version because that’s hella cool, however as you stated before it’s gonna take a bunch of time to get the thing recorded. And if you want to earn those hours back I wonder how much such a work would have to cost, especially if the pdf is already here at only five bucks. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to hear these things narrated. I’m just a bit afraid it may not be feasible under at least three times the price of the PDF and then it’s a bit of gamble whether people will actually buy it. I mean I’d buy it. But then I’m a crazy person so what do I know ^^
Maybe one way to do it is if the fans volunteer some time to help out in the narration? Tackle a couple stories each, I bought a microphone recently so I’m game.
But again, crazy person, crazy ideas.

I’d prefer time spent on music if that is the decision, but I’d certainly buy and listen to it.
