Hello! I’m also interested in the piano sheet music for the opera. I was also wondering if there is sheet music playable for an entire orchestra.
I know this is quite late in relation to the post, but I have recently discovered you guys via my boyfriend. I have to say that this, and the sequel, are wonderful additions to the music I listen to. It also makes the 2 hour drive home from school more bearable haha.
One thing I absolutely love is the wonderful use of the different themes in the music between Dolls of New Albion and the Radio Hour. From beginning to end, it is beautifully done and interesting to hear how just changing instruments, no matter how subtle, can change the feel of the music (especially in obtaining a distinctive tone different between the two). I think one of the top favorites is “The Old Trunk in the Attic.”
I know you mentioned a sort of Chord cheat sheet and I am definitely interested in obtaining a copy, if possible, to try and teach myself to play it. I can pick out the melody notes and play them, but finding the correct chords is more difficult for me.
Thank you for producing such wonderful music, and obtaining a wonderful cast of voices to make this creation really come alive. I am very much looking forward to the third installment~
I watched the full performance and my favorite part would easily be when that man in a white wifebeater starts whaling on the dolls for a while… that certainly was an entertaining and very emotional watch, definitely worth the hour and a half!
After watching the workshop performance, I have been wondering. Is it possible to get a printable copy of the sheet music you played on the piano? I have been interested trying them out personally.
The sheets music is almost entirely chords, with an occasional melody line. It’s a chord cheat sheet. If you want that sort of thing, sure, but it’s not actually sheet music in the way you might think.
I’ll take it anyways. I’m not too good at playing by listening. Even some chords would be good.
That was exciting to watch! It’s probably too soon to know this, but will there be a DVD or downloadable version of this production that can be purchased?
