The 4th Act is finished. Materials for the 3rd and 4th act have gone out to the performers.
Assembling those materials was a bloody task, let me tell you. Each act is basically an album length, Act 3 clock in at 40 minutes and Act 4 at an hour. There are 10 performers between the two of them.
Act 4 is magnificent. Yes, i’m just going to say it. Act 4 is freaking magnificent. But we are not done. There are still two more acts to go.
I will pause now, however. I will spend the rest of the day playing Red Dead Redemption and driving my 6 year old to karate. Tomorrow i need to get to work on materials for a secret thing i cannot talk about but that you will learn about soon enough (Jan? It will probably start dropping in Jan. This is a very, very awesome but incredibly secret thing that has been kept incredibly secret up to this point so i’m not going to blow it now.) I’ll spend the next week on said secret thing.
Recording of the performers will occur during the end of January, beginning Feb. The 1st Act may drop in January. It is likely to drop near the end of Jan. Act 1 and 2 are done, the 3rd and 4th Act demos are done. I will probably start on Act 5 in a week, but my family’s big winter vacation is coming up starting Jan 8th so not much progress will be made on it until Feb.
I will likely record the singers for Act 5 and 6 in April. Why April? Because Ah Pook (Silver Key and King In Yellow) have been invited to perform at a psych rock festival in Texas in April and we have said yes. more on that later, but since i will be back in the states for the live gig, might as well do the recordings then.
If you want to know whether this incredibly large album sucks or not, you can ask a Patron, as many have heard acts 1 and 2, and a few the 3rd act demo, which admittedly lacks a lot without the actual performers. They cannot give spoilers but they can absolutely share their opinion as to whether or not this whole thing sucks or doesnt suck so far. Even if every single person who hears act 4 says it’s the worst thing they’ve encountered, it will not deter me in my opinion that Act 4 is a freaking masterpiece. But what do i know?
