Pardon my silence, i have had to pause to build a new room.
I live in an old country house. Hovel, really. Through a great amount of work we are getting into shape. When we moved in 4 years ago, it had dirt floors, no bathroom, an outhouse with a hole in the ground, and no water on the property whatsoever.
All these things have been rectified, often through me digging (dear LORD i do a lot of digging.) We planted our own vegetable garden, built a terrace (i did not build the terrace, 2 villagers built it and absolutely ROCKED it), turned the root cellar into an awesome room which is now my studio and now…. now we need another bedroom. (We have a 5 year old and another one baking in the oven)
So, i have spent the past 4 days building the walls of the new room with some help from my brother in law (who also moved to this village) and another villager with the strength of 10 men. The 3 of us have collected 5 truckloads of mud and are mixing it with straw (the Light Straw Clay Method) and building the walls of the room as you can see here.
