Next Up: New Albion Murder Mystery

Thank you all for the wonderful, wonderful response to Nash Harding. It’s through the roof and i am pleased as punch. My deepest thanks.

And thus it is time to discuss the album that will follow it, the last one in the Michael/Secret run of little one shots. The next one will be something a bit different. The next one will be a murder mystery.

The murder mystery will star the mouse Kevin from the late Atompunk Era and his BFF Abigail (Abi) the granddaughter of Agatha from the Gang of Four. (If you don’t know Agatha, who’s literally my favorite character, read Lost Fables From New Albion). Kevin will be voiced by Oliver Marsh, Abi by Kiera-Marie Somers, and will also feature Lauren Osborn, Kerttu Aarnipuu, and Haley Warner.

It will be a lighter tone than the past two, and very lyric heavy, with more of a musical theatre bent than is normal. In other words, it’s very heavy on plot and dialogue as opposed to the last two which had more instrumental excursions. (I love me instrumental excursions, but the nature of this one is simply a different animal.) It will likely be a bit more of a whirlwind. During the listening parties when this is finished, we will stop the album before the big reveal so that the audience can guess the identity of the murderer.

“But Paul,” says absolutely nobody, “I like the crazy weirdness of your stories. How are you going to crazy weirdness AND a murder mystery at the same time? I mean, i like to watch Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot stories on the telly and all, but i hardly think that will make for a good New Albion musical.” Well let me tell you imaginary critic who probably doesn’t even reflect anybody out there, you are in for a treat. I have shenanigans a plenty. You’re not possibly ready for the level of crazy shenanigans i have planned. You meet me back here in about 5 to 6 months and you’ll see.

After that of course, it’s looking like we’ll do The Posthuman War Series, a giant, 6 Act Epic that more or less tells the tale of The Ballad Of Lloyd Allen, but that is a discussion for another time. First, it’s murder.
